We do our very best to ship your orders as quickly as possible. Our small team ships orders within 1-3 business days from our warehouse in Tigard, OR. Regular ground shipping rates and expedited shipping rates are provided at the time of checkout. Free shipping on all orders over $150 excluding Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico. For international shipping rates, please call our studio or email us through the Contact Form with your order and address.

Hot Skwash is not responsible for any delays once the package has shipped and tracking updates have been generated, or for any delivery errors, and lost or stolen packages once the package has been delivered. Unfortunately, stolen packages are becoming more frequent with more people shopping online, so please make sure you have a secure location to ship to and will be there to receive your package. 

Please inspect your order upon receipt. If you are not satisfied with your item, please contact us immediately so we can assist you. If you choose to return your order, it must be returned in its original packaging within 7 day of receipt. We do not except returns of sale items or One of a Kind items

Proper care for your Hot Skwash is essential. Always handle your pumpkins by the bottom. Continuous lifting by the stem will cause it to break.

You should store them as if you are storing a favorite sweater. All of our pieces are made with silk velvet. To prevent moths or other critters/bugs from nesting, we recommend an airtight container with a few cedar blocks or moth balls. Keep them in a cool, dry place.

When you unpack your pumpkins, they may have some impressions from the packing materials. We recommend lightly steaming them with a steamer or gently rubbing with a slightly moistened, clean cloth.

Every business adventure and artistic inspiration has a story. Most entrepreneurs set out to build a business. “I didn’t”, chuckles Daria Knowles. “I was looking for something to feed my creative appetite and contribute financially to my family in a way that still allowed me to be a present and active Mom.” As a mother with young children Daria was always sewing drapes, making pillows or knitting something for the kids. She was a busy mommy, active in the community and volunteering at school.

It was around this time that Daria came across the pumpkin idea while shopping. She found a fabric pumpkin with a crude , natural stem and knew that it could be turned into something very special. She began to play with the idea of selling some of her crafts to friends and family. This would allow her to stay home with the kids and earn a little money. The community quickly supported the idea and the “home shows” began. She grins and shakes her head modestly “It kind of just evolved. I’m constantly amazed by how far we’ve come. I never set out to be a business owner, I just wanted to create beautiful things.”

We are mothers, sisters, daughters, businesswomen, students, leaders, dreamers and artists who believe a positive environment, family and home are unconditional pillars of a healthy community. All of our pumpkins are made with real pumpkin stems. They are harvested by the same team of incredible women artisans that cut, sew and finish the pumpkins in-studio. Each stem is unique, which is what makes each pumpkin so precious!
